The Federal Government says the Cassava Bioethanol Project will save the country N3 trillion annually.
Vice President Kashim Shettima stated this at the 2025 World Cassava Day celebrations held at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja.

He said the federal government was embarking on various transformative innovations to modernise the country’s cassava industry.
“One of the most transformative initiatives in this effort is the Cassava Bioethanol Project. This project is expected to save the country over three trillion naira annually by reducing our dependency on imported fuels and ethanol derivatives.
“More importantly, it will catalyze innovation in agro-industrial waste management. We must now harness cassava by-products at scale, from peels to pulp, in a way that meets domestic demand and secures Nigeria a place among the major exporters of clean energy solutions and cassava-based industrial inputs,” the Vice President said.
