The Kano State Government has officially launched its Climate Change Policy, marking a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to address the challenges posed by climate change.
The policy launch, which took place at a ceremony attended by top government officials, development partners, and stakeholders, is aimed at promoting a coordinated and inclusive approach to climate governance in the state.

In his remarks, the Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahir M. Hashim, expressed his appreciation for the support of the state government, development partners, and other stakeholders in the development of the policy.
He noted that the policy launch was a bold statement that Kano State was not only climate-aware but also climate-ready, and that it marked the beginning of a new era in the state’s efforts to address the challenges posed by climate change.
Also speaking at the event, a climate change activist, Ahmad Muhammad Ahmad emphasized the urgent need for climate action, stating that it was a collective responsibility that required sacrifice and commitment.
