    KSHC spearheads Clean-Up Initiative at Kwankwasiyya City

    The Kano State Housing Corporation (KSHC) has launched a massive sanitation exercise at Kwankwasiyya City as part of its commitment to promoting a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment.

    Leading the initiative, the Acting Managing Director of the Corporation, Engr. Isyaku Umar Kwa, said the exercise aims to enhance the livability and aesthetic appeal of the city, in line with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s vision for sustainable urban development.

    According to Engr. Kwa, the clean-up effort will improve sanitation services, restore and beautify public spaces, and foster community pride. He emphasized that residents’ participation is crucial to maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of the city.

    He noted that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration has prioritized urban renewal and infrastructure development across Kwankwasiyya City, Bandirawo, and Amana City, with the goal of addressing challenges related to urban sustainability, fostering economic growth, social development, and environmental protection.

    “The Kano State Housing Corporation remains fully committed to supporting the state government’s initiatives and ensuring the success of transformative projects such as Kwankwasiyya City,” Engr. Kwa stated. “This sanitation exercise demonstrates our dedication to sustainable urban development, community engagement, and environmental protection.

    “We must take responsibility for our environment. Cleanliness is not just a one-day event; it must become a way of life. Today’s exercise is a powerful reminder that together, we can keep our communities clean and safe.”

    Engr. Kwa highlighted the benefits of the initiative, including improved public health by reducing the risk of sanitation-related diseases, and enhanced quality of life through the creation of a cleaner and more beautiful environment for all.

    A statement by the Director, Public Enlightenment Kano State Housing Corporation, Ismail Garba Gwammaja said the Director urged all residents of Kwankwasiyya City, Bandirawo, and Amana City to join hands in sustaining the effort, saying:

    “Together, we can make our cities better places to live, work, and thrive.”
