The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has advised people living with asthma and other respiratory conditions to exercise caution due to the prevailing dusty weather conditions across the country.
In its weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, NiMet said dust particles are currently in suspension in the atmosphere, urging the public to take necessary precautions.

The agency warned motorists to drive with caution and advised airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports from NiMet to aid effective planning of flight operations. Residents were also encouraged to stay updated through regular weather information issued by the agency.
NiMet predicted hazy and sunny conditions nationwide from Monday to Wednesday. According to the agency, the north-central region is expected to experience sunny and hazy skies throughout the forecast period.
The southern region is expected to have sunny skies with a few cloud patches, alongside prospects of afternoon or evening thunderstorms. Light rainfall is anticipated over parts of Ogun, Bayelsa, Rivers, Lagos, Delta, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.
For Tuesday, NiMet forecast moderate dust haze over parts of Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba states, while the rest of the northern region will experience slight dust haze.
By Wednesday, thick dust haze is expected across the northern region, while moderate dust haze will persist over the central region. The southern region is expected to experience sunny conditions with few clouds and isolated thunderstorms, accompanied by light rainfall in parts of Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Rivers states.
