The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has introduced dedicated telephone lines to enable residents of Abuja to report cases of uncleared refuse, as part of renewed efforts to improve environmental sanitation and waste management across the FCT.
The initiative is designed to strengthen monitoring of waste management contractors and ensure prompt evacuation of refuse from communities, markets and public spaces.

Announcing the development, the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka, called on residents to actively participate by reporting waste accumulation in their areas.
According to him, members of the public are encouraged to send pictures and short videos of uncleared refuse via WhatsApp to the designated phone numbers, clearly stating the exact location where the waste is found.
This, he explained, will help the FCTA identify the contractors responsible for the affected areas and take swift corrective action.
“This initiative is aimed at addressing the growing waste challenge in the FCT by ensuring that waste management contractors carry out their responsibilities as and when due,” Olayinka said.
Agro Climate News gathered that the four phone numbers provided for reporting uncleared refuse are 08038643087, 07011073406, 07011255710, and 09114843425.
