Chairman of the Assembly, Abdulhamid Tahir Hamid, praised the Bauchi State Ministry of Housing and Environment and the Department of Climate Change for introducing the programme, noting that it will equip students with knowledge and leadership skills to tackle environmental challenges.
He said the clubs will provide platforms for activities such as tree planting, waste management, environmental sanitation, and biodiversity conservation, helping students to actively contribute to climate action.

According to him, investing in young people is critical to building a sustainable future, as they will play a key role in driving long-term environmental change.
The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the state government and partners in promoting climate awareness and youth-led initiatives, while calling on schools, parents, and communities to encourage student participation.
The initiative aligns with Bauchi State’s broader efforts to promote climate resilience, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
