Kano State has reaffirmed its reputation as one of Nigeria’s agricultural powerhouses after emerging First Position Award Winner at the 2025 National Agric Show.
The award, presented at the annual national gathering of agricultural stakeholders, recognizes Kano’s sustained commitment to innovation, productivity and modernized farming systems.

Organizers described the state’s performance as “exceptionally impressive,” underscoring its leadership in driving agricultural advancement across the country.
According to the Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA), the achievement reflects years of strategic investment in agricultural development, including farmer empowerment programmes, mechanization initiatives and policies tailored to enhance food production and sustainability.

Agricultural experts at the event noted that Kano’s victory is a testament to the resilience and hard work of its farmers, as well as the robust institutional support that continues to position the state as a model for others to follow.
The award also aligns with Kano’s broader vision of strengthening food security, expanding value chains and boosting economic growth through agriculture.
The Head of the Media Unit of KNARDA, Muzzammil Mustapha, who confirmed the development, praised the collaborative efforts of farmers, government agencies and private sector partners whose dedication contributed to the state’s success.
