The federal lawmaker representing Bichi Constituency and Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, has inaugurated 253 environmental sanitation workers to promote cleanliness, public health, and community engagement in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State.
The event, held on December 28, 2025, was attended by APC officials, government appointees, and community leaders.

Agro Climate News reports that the initiative aims to tackle environmental challenges linked to climate change, raise sanitation awareness, and foster a culture of community-led cleanliness.
“Use this opportunity to inspire change, involve the community, and build a healthier society,” Rep. Kabir urged the workers.

He praised Kano State Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf and the NNPP for supporting development projects in Bichi, including school renovations and a stadium construction.
The beneficiaries of the initiative thanked Rep. Kabir for the jobs, praying for his success. They pledged yo work diligently to safeguard the environment towards preventing pollution and climate related issues.
Notable attendees included Hon. Sagir Koki (Kano Municipal), Hon. Lawan Shehu Bichi (State Assembly), APC Kano North Chairman Hon. Sani Mukaddas, and SA to the Deputy President of the Senate, Aliyu Tumfafi.
The program is expected to boost environmental consciousness and sanitation practices in Bichi and Kano State.
