The National Agricultural Farmers Network (NAFN) has called on President Bola Tinubu to attend the 2026 Annual National Agricultural Show and address farmers on his administration’s agricultural policies, interventions and plans for the sector.
The show, organised in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS) and the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), is scheduled to hold from November 16 to 20, with the official opening on November 17.

NAFN National Coordinator, Aishatu Ibrahim, made the call in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Friday.
The event is themed “Repositioning Agriculture for National Prosperity: Linking Smallholder Farmers, Government and the Private Sector to Technology, Finance, Markets and Value Addition.”
Ibrahim said the President’s presence would recognise farmers’ contributions to food security, employment generation and economic growth while providing an opportunity for direct engagement between the government and agricultural stakeholders.
“We are calling on President Tinubu to seize this historic opportunity and personally attend the 2026 National Agricultural Show.
“This is not simply an exhibition; it is the largest gathering of Nigerian farmers and agricultural stakeholders on a common platform,” she said.
She explained that the President’s address would allow farmers to discuss critical issues affecting agricultural production, including access to financing, farm inputs, mechanisation, irrigation, storage facilities, processing, markets and modern technologies.
According to her, direct interaction with the President would also enable farmers to communicate their challenges, production needs and experiences with government policies.
