While the President introduced the new ministry, he did not disclose the name of its minister. It is anticipated that he will submit the nominee’s name to the Senate for screening and confirmation if a new candidate is chosen.

Attendees at the inauguration included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and other cabinet members.

On September 15, 2023, President Tinubu approved the establishment of a Presidential Committee dedicated to reforming the livestock industry and providing long-term solutions to the recurring clashes between herders and farmers in Nigeria.

The committee’s formation followed the submission of a report from the National Conference on Livestock Reforms and Mitigation of Associated Conflicts in Nigeria.
