The Sokoto State Government has allocated N4,792,920.000.004 worth of fertiliser for distribution to farmers, including women and youth farmers across the state.

The Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu launched the programme in the Dange Shuni local government area of the State.
According to him, the assorted fertilizer came from fertilizers provided by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Fadama NG- CARES Programme and the Sokoto State Government.
He said each local government area of the State will receive 10 trucks of fertilizer, 7 trucks would be released for wet season farming while the remaining 3 trucks would subsequently be issued for dry season farming.
His words: “The idea is to ensure improved agricultural output in the State during the 2024 cropping seasons, and by implication create job opportunities for our teeming youths.”
The government, Aliyu said, will continue to provide support to the teeming farmers through the provision of farm inputs and equipment, such as Agricultural machines, fertilizer, Agro chemical seeds and other support services.
The Governor urged the beneficiaries of the gesture to ensure proper usage of the support given to achieve the renewed hope of the food security agenda of President Bola Tinubu in the country.
