The Chairman House Committee on Ecological Funds, Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji has said that Kano State will soon benefit from the Ecological Funds in order to address erosion challenges affecting the environment.
The committee disclosed this on Tuesday when they paid a working visit Kano to see the real situation of the devastating erosion sites across the state.

Chairman of the committee, who is also the member representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency said they will later write a report to the Federal government for quick intervention.
“We visit Kano State like any other states we have visited so far purposely to see the real situation by our selves and the unpleasant conditions caused at the eroded areas and what we will do as a committee quickly to bring succour to the affected sites and also compile a comprehensive report for government urgent intervention, that is what we’re here for,” he explained.
He expressed worries over the devastating situation caused by the erosion in some affected areas across the state.

However, he expressed optimism that his committee would do everything possible with out any further delays to articulate and compile a sound report for government of the federation to intervene quickly.
Hon. Jaji also commended the state government and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in particular for their concern and unwavering commitment in addressing these challenges from excalation in some parts.
Meanwhile, the state commissioner for Environment and Climate Change Rt. Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo who conducted round the Committee some eroded sites, lamented how the erosion is consuming farmlands, roads, property and sometimes loss of lives among other issues.
A statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Ministry, Ismail Garba Gwammaja said the commissioner appealed to the committee to do the needful having seen the reality by themselves to submit their report and assessment about Kano situation on erosion for immediate intervention.
Areas visited by the committee includes, Getso Erosion site in Gwarzo Local Government Area, Rarin in Dawakin Tofa, Bulbula Gayawa in Ungogo and Kwankwasiyya city in Kumbotso Local Governments respectively.
