    Truck-load of gas cylinders explode in Katsina filling station 

    The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed that a truck transporting gas cylinders exploded at a filling station in Jibia Local Government Area, causing significant damage to six vehicles.

    The Command’s spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, disclosed the incident in a statement issued on Friday in Katsina.

    “On Friday, November 15, a loud explosion was heard by police operatives attached to Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), accompanied by a team and in collaboration with the military, promptly responded to the scene,” Sadiq-Aliyu said.

    He explained that upon arrival, the team found a truck loaded with gas cylinders engulfed in flames at Tamal Filling Station, along Kagadama-Magamar Jibia road.

    “The joint team swiftly deployed preventive measures to protect lives and minimize property damage, successfully quenching the fire. Six motor vehicles were significantly affected by the fire incident, but fortunately, no life was lost,” he added.

    According to the statement, the Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, has directed a thorough investigation to uncover the cause of the explosion.

    Sadiq-Aliyu assured that updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
