The Kano State Government has canceled the April 2025 monthly environmental sanitation to avoid disrupting the ongoing Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations.
The decision was made after discussions with stakeholders, according to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

A statement by the Director Public Enlightment of the ministry, Samaila Garba Gwammaja, the excersice will resume next month.
He added that the state Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahiru M. Hashim, said the suspension is temporary and sanitation will resume in May 2025.
He urged residents to cooperate, avoid littering, and pray for students taking the exams.“We want to ensure a clean environment without interfering with important events like JAMB,” Hashim added.
