The Kano State Government has profusely warned against Illegal Felling Of trees by some unpatriotic citizens, saying that the offenders will face the wrath of the law.
The State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change Nasiru Sule Garo stated this during a special tour to inspect the work done by the Kano State government and The National Agency for the Great Green Wall.

The projects are been carried out in the areas of Shelter belts, Wood lock, Nurseries and other Plantation Services at Danbatta, Makoda, Kunchi and some part of Bichi local government areas respectively.
Garo noted with appreciation the status of this locations Site but urged people in the state to always be mindful with this seedling to support government to look after them, nursing them to the mature level by Way of protecting them to guide against climate change issues and other land degradation.
“The Commissioner further explained that, the inspection is conducted as a result of the Governor directives to see what’s been done before by the government and the GGW and advice on how best to utilize this locations again for this year’s occasion by the Great Green World,” a statement by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the Ministry, Ismail Garba Gwammaja has said.
“During the inspection visit at Fagwalawa in Danbatta local government area, the Commissioner come across an individual who is felling down a tree completely for fire wood seek, a long the main road and expressed worried on this negative attitude and warned vehemently that people shall desist because of its consequences to our environment and ecosystem,” he added.
