A 16-year-old Kano boy, Khalifa Aminu has invented an Automatic Water Spray Plant that will provide water for crops automatically while the farmers are at home.
The new project initiated by the boy is said to provide water to farms while the operators/farmers are in the comfort of their homes without their presence in the fields.

Aminu, a resident of the Kurna-Gobirawa area of Dala local government in the state metropolis, dominated the online media with his recent initiative of inventing eyeglasses which aids blind people to move freely. He also fabricated a radio transmitter among other things.
However, speaking about the newly invented water sprayer, the young boy said it is one of many ideas that he intends to do to ease people’s activities and contribute to global technological advancements.
He said the essence of inventing the water spray plant is to contribute his quota to the development of farming, support local farmers and enhance the government efforts to attain food security in the nation.
“Today I have finished my new project, ‘Automatic Spray Water Plant’; a system that will support in watering their farms while they are not physically in the field. It operates automatically.
“This initiative is done to make farming easier, as it will operate whenever there is no water. And when the water suffices, it will of itself. If there is water in the farm the sprayer will not work until the water is finished,” he said in a Facebook post sighted by AgroClimateNews.
Aminu, who just graduated from Secondary school said although the project is complete and tested, he still needs bigger equipment to apply the system in large farms.
AgroClimateNews reports that recently, a man from Gombe state fabricated a solar-powered generator that can be used for watering in farms.
