Governors Dikko Umaru Radda, Abba Kabir Yusuf and Umar Namadi of Katsina, Kano and Jigawa states respectively are attending a two-day high-level electricity sector symposium in Marrakech, Morocco.
The summit involves discussions with the management of the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), which distributes electricity across the three North-west states and Future Energies Africa (FEA).

It aims to foster regional cooperation and attract investments for modernising the electricity sector. Key topics of discussion include expanding access to renewable energy, enhancing electricity distribution, and exploring innovative financing models for clean energy projects within the Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa regions.
A statement by Governor Namadiโs media office said the governor will highlight Jigawaโs potential for solar energy investments and seek partnerships for rural electrification and industrial growth, aiming to ensure an improved power supply to support agricultural processing, small industries, and job creation in the state.
The statement added that Jigawaโs participation in the summit is part of Governor Namadiโs commitment to putting the state at the forefront of clean energy adoption and sustainable development.
