Alhaji Safiyanu Hamza Kachako explained that with the establishment of the Ministry by the State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and the mandate given to it, plans have reached advance stage to collaborate with stake holders in the sector from within and outside the country to harness the state endowed Solid Mineral resources for overall economic development of the state.
He explained that the ministry under his able leadership had designed an action plan that would compliment Government efforts to generating more job opportunities to youth and protection of both licensed and artisanal miners, host communities as well as the flora and fauna that could be affected by the mining activities.
According to him, this could only be achieved through continuous environmental impact assessment by the ministry and ensure compliance to corporate social responsibilities by the mining firms wherever they operate within the state.
