Seven farmers have been declared missing and over 89 houses and hundreds of hectares of farm lands have been destroyed by flood in Mashegu and Magama Local Government Areas of Niger State.
Some of the farmers who spoke with Climate Change said domestic animals, cars, access roads were also washed away.

One of the farmers, Alhaji Hassan Ibrahim said the flood was caused by heavy rainfall that lasted for about 4 hours on Friday morning.
He said the affected Communities were Sabon pegi and adjoining communities in Mashegu and Nassarawa and other villages of Magama Local Government Areas.
The Director General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Abdullah Baba Arah confirmed the incident.
He said heavy rainfall which started from 2am lasted until 12pm on Friday, August 30, 2024.
