    Jigawa Governor leads delegation to 2024 Africa Food Systems Summit in Kigali

    Governor Mallam Umar Namadi is leading the Jigawa State delegation to the 2024 Africa Food Systems Summit in Kigali, Rwanda, emphasizing the state’s commitment to agricultural transformation and food sufficiency.

    Speaking at the eve of the event in Kigali, Governor Namadi said his administration is putting efforts towards addressing food insecurity in Jigawa state and the country at large.

    According to him, “Jigawa State is committed to achieving food sovereignty and resilience through sustainable and inclusive agricultural development. We are eager to collaborate with partners and investors to unlock the full potential of our agricultural sector and contribute to Africa’s food security.”

    The summit, themed “Innovate, Accelerate, and Scale: Delivering Food Systems Transformation in a Digital and Climate Era,” will feature Governor Namadi as a keynote speaker, presenting Jigawa State’s strategies and gains in achieving food sovereignty and enhancing agricultural resilience.

    The Jigawa State delegation will participate in panel discussions, highlighting the state’s flagship Rice Millionaire Project and its contribution to Nigeria’s national food security, as well as exploring collaboration opportunities with government officials, development partners, and private sector investors.
