President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians of the commitment of his administration to revamping the agricultural sector to ensure food security in the nation.
This is, as the president disclosed that food security will remain a top priority in his government to ensure economic growth, provide what the nation can eat and ensure that no Nigerian goes to bed hungry.

He disclosed this while presenting the 2025 Budget, tagged ‘Restoration Budget, Securing Peace and Building Prosperity,’ to the joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja on Wednesday, monitored by Agro Climate News.
According to him, Agricultural production is essential to the food security agenda, but insecurity has crippled the vital sector, adding that his administration is supporting farmers with funding and inputs to reignite productivity.
“Food security is non-negotiable. In this regard, we are taking bold steps to ensure that every Nigerian can feed confidentially, none of our citizens would have to go to bed hungry.

“Fellow Nigerians, our 2025 budget proposal is not just another statement on projected government revenue and expenditure. It is one that calls for action. Our nation faces an essential threat from corruption and insecurity,” he said.
President Tinubu presented a budget of N47.96 trillion to a joint session of the National Assembly with defence and security taking the lion’s share of N4.91 trillion.
This is followed by infrastructure, which has N4.06 trillion, education N3.52 trillion and health N2.48 trillion.
