The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), has provided relief materials to 357 victims of recent fire incidents in Kibiya Local Government Area and Fatima Simra Multipurpose Market.
The distribution exercise was flagged off by the Executive Governor of Kano State, represented by the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Alhaji Adamu Kibiya.

In his remarks, the Commissioner commended NEMA for its swift response and lauded the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting disaster-affected communities across the state.
Representing the Director General of NEMA, Hajiya Zubaida Umar, the Head of Operations, Dr. Nuraddeen Abdullahi, reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to providing timely assistance to disaster victims.
He noted that the relief items — which included rice, maize, spaghetti, and condiments — were part of efforts to cushion the hardship faced by households affected by the recent fire incidents.

Dr. Abdullahi further emphasized that the intervention reflects the Federal Government’s continued dedication to strengthening disaster response and recovery initiatives nationwide.
The event drew stakeholders from different sectors and was conducted in an atmosphere of empathy and cooperation.
