The National Project Coordinator of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project, Abdulhamid Umar, took center stage at COP 29, joining forces with his team to champion innovative financial solutions for environmental sustainability.
This is coming at the sideline of the COP29 Conference taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan, with all the stakeholders across the world in attendance.

At a pivotal side event, “Innovative Financial Instruments: Sustainable Finance and Green Bonds,” hosted by Mr. Manish Pant, Executive Vice President of International Operations at Schneider Electric, ACReSAL’s expertise shone bright.
As the world converges to address the climate crisis, COP29 underscores the urgent need for collective action. Green bonds, a key focus of the event, offer a vital financing mechanism to support climate-resilient projects like ACReSAL.
According to a post on the official X handle (formerl known as Twitter), ACReSA described mobilizing private sector investment, green bonds can accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy and bolster environmental sustainability, among the proposes of the conference.
