The Zamfara Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACRESAL) project, in collaboration with its Focal NGO, has conducted a comprehensive training and sensitisation programme on Sustainable Land Management (SLM) and Climate Resilience Agriculture (CRA) for key stakeholders in the state.
The training targeted two catchments across three Local Government Areas (LGAs) involved in the Zamfara ACRESAL project.

Participants included extension agents, Community Interest Groups (CIGs), Local Government Project Implementation Committees (LGPICs), farmers, and community leaders. The initiative aimed to enhance their knowledge and skills in implementing sustainable practices and adapting to climate challenges.
Speaking during the event, the Zamfara State ACRESAL Project Coordinator, Nasiru Bello, highlighted the importance of the programme in promoting the adoption of SLM and CRA practices among farmers and agricultural communities.
“This training is designed to improve the resilience of agricultural communities to climate change and variability. It also seeks to strengthen the capacity of stakeholders such as extension agents, community leaders, and farmers to support the effective implementation of SLM and CRA practices,” Bello explained.
He further emphasized the need for collaboration among stakeholders, stating that fostering coordination is critical for the success of the project’s goals.
