The Jigawa State Environmental Protection Agency (JISEPA) has conducted a six-day drains clearance and waste evacuation in Guri LGA.
Mr Adamu Sabo, the MD of the agency, who made this known on Monday, said that the exercise was aimed at controlling flood and enhancing sanitation, as well as improving hygiene.

He explained that the gesture was also expected to rid the area of mosquitoes.
He advised residents to always keep their surroundings clean and imbibe good sanitation habits.
He added that the agency had put in place proactive measures to promote effective waste management and sanitation in urban and rural communities through drains clearance, waste collection and disposal.
