The Kano State Government has announced the postponement of the monthly sanitation exercise earlier scheduled for Saturday, 25th October 2025.
According to a statement from the Public Enlightenment Department of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the decision was made to allow residents to fully participate in the traditional festival performance, Hawan Kalankuwa, which falls on the same date.

The statement explained that the adjustment underscores the government’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage and promoting community values, describing them as the “collective pride” of the people.
The government assured that a new date for the sanitation exercise will be communicated soon, urging residents to continue maintaining clean surroundings in the meantime.
The announcement was made under the directive of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Executive Governor of Kano State.
