Governor Namadi described the partnership as strategic and expressed confidence in its long-term impact on the state’s agricultural sector.
“I felt very happy when I was informed that you were around because it gives me hope that this partnership we are building is going to be successful,” he said.
He assured the delegation of the state government’s commitment, adding that, “Jigawa State is equally serious about this partnership, and we will continue to work together.”

The company’s Managing Director, Venkateswarlu Yaganti, said early results from ongoing field trials are encouraging, particularly for rice and wheat varieties tested under local conditions.
“We found some of the local varieties to be very promising. They are not inferior to our own, and we are working to improve them for large-scale production,” he said.
Yaganti noted that the collaboration goes beyond seed supply, focusing on technology transfer, farmer training, and improving agronomic practices to boost yields.
He also disclosed plans to support local seed production, processing, and storage in Jigawa, with the aim of reaching farmers across Nigeria and the wider West African region.
The governor further highlighted Jigawa’s position within Nigeria’s agricultural landscape, noting that the state has the capacity to serve as a hub for innovation and productivity.
“This partnership has the potential to extend beyond Jigawa and Nigeria to the wider West African continent,” he added.
